National Park Passes, including the popular America the Beautiful Pass, can be purchased online or in person. Here's how:
Buy Online
You can purchase most National Park Passes from the following official websites:
- USGS Online Store
- Other authorized retailers like REI may also sell passes.
When purchasing online, you'll have the option to either receive a physical pass by mail or, in some cases, download a temporary pass for immediate use.
Buy In Person (Recommended)
Passes can be purchased at many National Park Service locations, including visitor centers, entrance stations, or park offices. If you're visiting Muir Woods, you can buy a pass at the Muir Woods Visitor Center.
Types of Passes Available
The passes include options like:
- Annual Pass: For anyone visiting multiple parks in a year.
- Senior Pass: Available for U.S. citizens or permanent residents aged 62 or older.
- Access Pass: For U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities.
- Military Pass: Free for current U.S. military members and their dependents.
Important Notes
- Passes cover entrance fees for pass holders and, in many cases, up to three additional adults. Children under 16 are usually free.
- While the pass covers park entrance fees, it does not cover amenities like parking, camping, or special tours.
